Information Helium Tank

On this page you can find information about our compressed helium tanks.

How do I fill a balloon with helium?
Our helium tanks are very easy to use. Instructions can be found on the packaging.
First you open the green tap. Then you place the opening of the balloon around the black nozzle of the helium tank. Hold the balloon firmly and move the nozzle up or down. This opens the valve and the helium flows into the balloon. As soon as you straighten the nozzle, the supply of helium stops. You can remove the balloon from the nozzle and button it. You do not have to close the green tap in between. We advise to close the green tap when you don't use the helium tank

How many balloons can you fill with a single tank?
The number of ballons you can fill depends strongly on the size of the balloon. Below you'll find an indication. Actual numbers can differ depending on the actual usage and filling level.

Tank 30
23cm balloons  ± 30 pieces
30cm balloons  ± 15 pieces
60cm balloons  ± 3 pieces
90cm mega balloons  ± 1,5 pieces
45cm foil balloons  ± 16 pieces
90cm foil balloons ± 6 pieces

Tank 50
23cm balloons  ± 50 pieces
30cm balloons  ± 25 pieces
60cm balloons  ± 5 pieces
90cm mega balloons  ± 2,5 pieces
45cm foil balloons  ± 28 pieces
90cm foil balloons ± 10 pieces

How long do helium balloons continue to float?
Each balloon has a different floating time. This has to do with the size and environmental factors such as light and heat. Latex balloons of 30 centimeters will keep floating for about 5-7 hours according to our manufacturer. In practice, this is a few hours longer. Foil balloons remain good for about 4 days and mega balloons (90 centimeters) remain floating for up to 24 hours.

How much m3 helium is there in a tank?
Tank 30: 0.25m3
Tank 50: 0.42m3

Which balloons can be filled with helium?
All balloons can be filled with helium. Foil ballons have a longer floating time and for other balloons we advise latex. The quality of the balloons impact the floating time. So be sure to use the right balloons.
Confetti balloons can be filled with helium but we advise not to use this combination. First of all the weight of the confetti drastically reduces the floating time and secondly the confetti doesn't stick to the balloon and will lay at the buttom. When you want to have the confetti all over the inside of the balloon you should just inflate the ballon with air and make the balloon static.

Safety and instructions
Keep the helium tank and balloons out of reach of children: Children under 8 can choke on unused or
discarded balloons. Adult supervision is required. Store unused balloons out of reach of children. Dispose of any waste immediately.
Only use in a well ventilated room. Helium can displace oxygen in an enclosed space and cause asphyxiation.
The helium in this tank is pressurised. Do NOT breathe it in directly. Under no circumstance should you ever put the nozzle in your mouth or nose. This can cause serious harm or even death.
Do not use this tank for anything other than its intended purpose: filling balloons with helium.
Do NOT refill the tank with any gas or liquid of any kind.
Do NOT expose the tank to direct heat or fire.
Do NOT store the tank in a damp environment (the formation of rust can cause corrosion).
Do NOT drop the tank on sharp or pointed objects.
Do NOT use the tank near high-voltage power cables or during a thunderstorm.
Incorrect use or misuse of the tank can cause the tank to crack or explode releasing helium. This can cause serious harm or even death.
Respect the environment; do not release filled balloons outside.

Close the valve by turning it clockwise.
Loosen and remove the nozzle by hand or with a wrench outside.
Open the valve by twisting it anti-clockwise to release any remaining pressurised helium.
Take the tank to your recycling centre to dispose of appropriately.

According to the European legislation (Directive 1999/36/EC. TPED art.19), the re-filling and any possible subsequent transport of this EN 12205 tank is
prohibited and punishable by law, in accordance with the laws and regulations of the Member State concerned.
